37 2007 nissan altima serpentine belt diagram

Hi, I recently took my car up to Vermont for a week, and when the temp was very low (0F), the belt was prone to squeal. I'm back home on Long Island and it's perfectly fine. I recently replaced this belt. My car doesn't have an automatic adjuster - it's a manual one. Should the tensioner be made looser when anticipating colder temps, or is there something I'm missing when I'm making adjustments? Thanks! Like the title says the engine cranks but wont start. I dont think its a fuel issue since the pump runs and I even tried starter fluid and still no go. In idle it would often drop down in rpms and once in a while low enough to stall. My friend looked at it as I started the engine and said it was the ac compressor pulley. Can I just snip the belt and pull it out and drive without AC?
